We are pleased to announce that Kildare County Council has signed a contract with Townlink Construction Ltd for the delivery of the new Newbridge Library, County Archives and Cultural Centre.

The development will see the refurbishment and regeneration of the historic library building, originally constructed in 1936, with a substantial new extension which will replace the existing branch library building, constructed in the 1970s

The design was developed by Metropolitan Workshop Architecture and Urbanism, supported by the consultant team including JCA Architects, AECOM, and BB7. The project is being managed by the Special Projects Team in Kildare County Council.

It is the end of an era here at Townlink Construction as we wish a very happy retirement to our colleague and friend, Peter Shovlin.

Peter is stepping back after an incredible 25 years with us. A quarter of a century is a massive milestone in any industry, and it is hard to overstate just how much of an impact he has had on the team and the business over the years.

He has been a constant presence, always great fun and someone you could also rely on.

We are already looking forward to regular visits and updates on his new non-construction projects.

Wishing you health, happiness, and all the very best in your retirement, Peter. Enjoy the downtime; you have certainly earned it!

The team at Townlink Construction is delighted to share a major visual milestone on site this week. The scaffolding is officially coming down, revealing the impressive exterior of the new Radiology Unit Extension.

Seeing the structure uncovered is a fantastic moment that highlights the hard work, precision, and dedication of everyone involved. Delivering a state-of-the-art healthcare facility within a live campus environment requires meticulous planning, and we are incredibly proud of our site team for managing this with zero disruption to the daily operations of a sensitive orthopaedic hospital.

A sincere thank you to our excellent design partners Peter Oakes,
MMP – Mulcahy McDonagh & Partners, Johnston Reid & Associates, Molony Millar, client representatives National Orthopaedic Hospital Cappagh, and our extensive network of over 70 specialist subcontractors for their ongoing collaboration, professional approach, and seamless coordination.

We are now moving into the final stages of the project and look forward to handing over a facility that will significantly enhance patient care and services.

A highly productive evening spent with the team at Townlink Construction. Taking the time to step away from our active sites to review our ongoing programme of works and celebrate recent team successes is vital for our continued growth.
We had an excellent session aligning our strategic objectives for the upcoming quarter and reflecting on our live projects—including the fantastic progress being made at our CHQ Foodhall site in Dublin city centre.
Delivering exceptional results, right from the initial First-in-Place quality benchmarks through to final project handover, requires strong collaboration and a unified team.

A key project milestone has been achieved at the Donore Avenue Youth and Community Centre.

With the demolition and structural repairs now complete, we have moved straight into the fit-out phase. It is great to see the building starting to come back to life.

We are delighted to celebrate the topping out of the new St Stephen’s Green Hotel. Yesterday, the O’Reilly Hyland family and our excellent professional design team helped us to mark this significant milestone.

We are very pleased to report the completion of the structure on time. This new 131-bed hotel and apartment development will be a great addition to the south side of St Stephen’s Green. We extend our sincere thanks to LS Structures and Flood Precast for their valued partnership on this project.

Great progress at Constitution Hill! We have officially broken ground on Phase 1 of this vital regeneration project alongside Dublin City Council.

It was a privilege to have the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Ray McAdam, on-site to turn the first sod. Townlink Construction Limited is incredibly proud to be delivering 46 new social homes, a comprehensive deep retrofit of existing blocks, and a brand-new community facility for the north inner city.

With completion set for Summer 2027, we are looking forward to working with the Integrated Design Team, led by Grafton Architects, to build a brighter, more sustainable future for the residents.
